Where Cards Are Born
When it comes to choosing the brand of cards you want to use for your poker game, are you a Bee man, or do you prefer a nice Bicycle? Perhaps you are more of an Aviator kind of guy, or you like to go old school with a Hoyle. No matter which of the brands you pick, you have the United States Playing Card Company to thank. They manufacture all of these, as well as personally customized cards that allow you to design your own face, back and packaging. The company was founded over 130 years ago by three newspapermen in Cincinnati, Ohio who knew a thing or two about printing, and it is still going strong today, printing puzzles, collectible tins and poker chips to boot . Their Bicycle deck has been in continuous production since 1885 and they claim it to be the best selling playing cards in the world. How old is that Bicycle deck you have gathering dust in the closet? Check the Ace of Spades to find the year it was manufactured. And if you like a game of Bridge every now and then, you might use their Congress deck which has been around since 1881
