Pony Club Australia

Working closely with the Worldwide Association of Young Riders, or the Pony Club, Pony Club Australia is dedicated to teaching and encouraging young people to ride horses. It is a voluntary youth organization that aims to help young riders develop an interest not only in horse riding but in other horse and riding-related sports as well.

Pony Club promotes the idea of having fun while learning. In relation to teaching the proper techniques of riding horses and horsemastership, Pony Club Australia also trains their young riders in giving value to and taking care of their horses and other animals.

While training, the riders are given activities that test their sportsmanship, citizenship, and loyalty. Pony Club Australia molds these young riders into more disciplined and courageous individuals.

In order to fully enforce its dedication to encouraging young people to get into horse riding, Pony Club Australia formed a partnership with Riding for the Disabled Association Australia and came up with Project CONNECT.

Project CONNECT (Creating Opportunities Nationally through Networks in Education, Classification, and Training) gives equal riding and sporting opportunities to people of all walks of life especially those with disabilities. The project does not limit itself with horse-related sports but embraces all other types as well.

Pony Club Australia has over 850 member clubs.
